Is anyone still playing this Game? I saw Mag playing last night, but is there still a community out there? _________________

Regrettably no. I think the Bad Company 2 beta ended up taking the remaining people away. At any given time, there is only enough people for one server in the world. I wish I was exaggerating, but most of the time I'm playing with a 150 ping on a UK server cause that's where people are playing. To Section 8's credit, it's really not bad. Sure every now and then I'll notice a lag problem, but going from a 40 to 150+ ping I'd expect a lot more than the very few missed shots I experience.
Last night I finally got to play some of the new maps with other humans. Yes, I bought the DLC. These maps are excellent. I mean, really, they did an outstanding job. Yet Games for Windows Live killed the studio again. From the forums I've learned that there is simply no way for Timegate to make the maps available for free. It seems that they are required to include achievements in any DLC package, and the studio has to pay for all achievements. So the cost has very little to do with the maps; it's about GFWL achievement points. What nonsense.
I hate to see this game go down in flames, and I am very disappointed in the gaming community as a whole. The people have spoken. "Dear game developers, please stop creating innovative and entertaining new games. If you want our money, give us the same tired formula you've been using for over a decade so we don't have to learn anything new. Oh, and if you don't give me an advantage over new players I'm just going to go play another game that will, like Call of Duty 13." |

Well said, but this reflects gamers like you and I that remember when playing a game was more about the experience than about the gadgets involved.... _________________
